CGI animals shout way too much

Have you ever noticed how CGI animals in movies and shows these days always shout at you the first time they appear for dramatic effect?

You would never see a tiger growl at a deer before it attacked it would you?

And just when I thought I would have to do a ton of digging to illustrate my point, I find this fine blog post that predated me by TEN years.
